How to select a CO2 incubator

When selecting a carbon dioxide incubator, it is important to consider the following aspects, such as carbon dioxide concentration value, ambient temperature and humidity control, air pollutant control and practical operation convenience and so on.

1. Carbon dioxide concentration value control

The carbon dioxide concentration value is monitored based on the infrared induction or heat transfer temperature sensor provided with the CO2 incubator. Generally, temperature sensors for detecting carbon dioxide concentration values are divided into two categories,  heat transfer (Tc) temperature sensors and infrared induction (IR) regulators.

2. Ambient temperature and humidity control

The temperature control system is particularly important for shaping the physical and mental health and growth and development of somatic cells. There are two types of temperature control in CO2 incubators, water-jacketed type and air-jacketed type. The water-jacketed incubator maintains room temperature around the outer waveguide according to the rotation of the water in the separate spacer. The air-jacketed incubator is electrically heated based on a waveguide electric heater installed around the culture chamber and transfers the heat into the shaping chamber.

3. Environmental contamination control

Environmental pollution is one of the most important reasons for cell culture failure. Carbon dioxide incubators must have conditions for good control of environmental contamination, so as to avoid contamination of the somatic environment during the entire shaping process.
